Monument & Memory brings together Buffalo-based photographer DJ Carr and internationally recognized Spanish sculptor Juan Bordes in an intimate exhibition exploring artistic exchange, creative risk, and the ways art carries memory across time and place.
Carr’s photographs, created during a journey to Spain to document Bordes in his studio, offer a deeply personal view of the artist, his process, and the environment shaped by a lifetime of making.
Presented alongside Bordes’ sculptures, the images create a conversation between artist and observer, object and photograph, presence and remembrance.
Together, the works consider how creative lives are witnessed, preserved, and carried forward, and how one artist’s legacy can inspire another artist to take a defining step in their own journey.
